“Learn to love the fool in you, the one who feels too much, talks too much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self control, loves and hates, hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laughs and cries. It alone protects you against the utterly self-controlled, masterful tyrant: whom you also harbor and would rob you of human aliveness, humility, and dignity but for your fool.”
- Theodore Isaac Rubin
Heads up! As a practice, we know it’s important to know all the details about our education and experience. However, we also want to honor our values of authenticity and being humans first. If you are looking for all the formal things, keep scrolling (it’s at the bottom).
I'm currently a graduate intern completing my clinical training at Mindful Wellbeing under the supervision of Lisa Nemitz, LICSW.
I was drawn to this field by the opportunity to support people as they experience, grow, and overcome life's challenges. Clients can expect warmth, empathy, and unconditional acceptance of their authentic selves..
Healing is hard. There’s no shortcut around it. I’ve checked. To paraphrase Michael Rosen’s Going on a Bear Hunt, "We can't go over it. We can't go under it. Oh [insert swear word of choice]! We've got to go through it.” I’m here to support you as you find your way through it.
I'm interested in supporting older adolescents and adults dealing with trauma, depression, and anxiety. I am interested in the mind-body connection and supporting cognitive-based approaches with somatic interventions. We can tell our minds that we are safe, worthy, or enough as we are, but our bodies and emotions may show us that we believe the opposite. Getting the mind and body on the same page involves deconstructing our unhealthy beliefs and rebuilding with healthy truths. Somatic interventions can help you process and carry your pain as you heal.
My goal is for you to feel safe in this space being imperfectly human—to stumble your way through, make mistakes, and know that you are never not worthy of unconditional love. You have been and always will be a beautiful wonder. Wherever you are in life, I will meet you with compassion, curiosity, and kindness. You don't have to have all your ducks in a row—mine have actually flown to Hawaii and have yet to return. Come as you are. You are welcome here.
As an Enneagram Twix (no, it’s not a thing, but should be) and a Hufflepuff, I enjoy gardening,
baking, coziness, goofiness, making knitted or crocheted items, and getting into a good book. I
love dogs, particularly my family dog, Roy Kent.
